Nature Immersion Overview
The Nature Immersion Tour is a private day on Waiheke Island built around its walks: the Cascades track through native forest in Whakanewha Regional Park, a coastal trail or a beach stroll, with tūī, kererū and kākā for company. Lunch is at Batch, high above the bay, with a tasting if you'd like one.
A Sample Itinerary:
Walks are chosen to suit your group — gentle for grandparents, longer for keen walkers — and we can combine bush and coast in one day. Bring good shoes, a layer and a camera; we'll bring the water.

Ferry to Matiatia & the Palm Beach lookout
Catch the Island Direct ferry from Pier 13 in downtown Auckland. We meet you at Matiatia Wharf, then stop at the Palm Beach lookout for your first big view over the Hauraki Gulf.
An hour to an hour and a half on the Nīkau Track through lush native bush to the cascades, listening for kererū, kākā, pīwakawaka and our noisy tūī.

Lunch with a view — and a tasting if you like — at Batch, high on the hill, looking across the island towards Auckland.

We drop you at one end of 1.5 km of golden sand, with Aotea Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel on the horizon, and meet you further along.

Time permitting, a wander through the village's galleries and shops, with views over Oneroa Bay.

A short drive to the wharf for the ferry, or back to your accommodation.

How hard are the walks?
Easy to moderate. The Cascades loop takes about an hour to an hour and a half with some steps; coastal and beach walks are flatter. We'll tailor the distance to your group.
How much does the Nature Immersion Tour cost?
It books at the Epic Far-End Tour price: from NZ$599 per person, or NZ$549 each for groups of three or four. Prices include GST and booking fees. Lunch and tastings are paid on the day.
What birds might we see?
Tūī and kererū are common in Whakanewha Regional Park, and kākā, pīwakawaka (fantail) and weka are often seen or heard along the Cascades track.
